Welcome!
My name is Sorrel, and I am a compassionate dog walker and aspiring dog trainer based in Bridgwater and the surrounding areas.
I take pride in celebrating small victories and helping dogs build calm, enjoyable experiences. My approach is rooted in scientifically backed, reward-based training methods, both for my walks and training sessions. I have a deep understanding of the physiological and psychological challenges that reactive dogs often face. My own journey with my rescue Belgian Shepherd X, whom I adopted in 2018, has provided me with invaluable insights. Helping her find balance has been a profound learning experience, and I am passionate about supporting other guardians in achieving the same for their dogs. I work closely with other local trainers and ABTC and APBC-accredited behaviourists, fostering a collaborative and supportive community of which I hope to be an accredited member of in the future.. This network allows me to exchange knowledge and ideas, and I firmly believe that reward-based training will become the standard for dog training in the future.
My connection with dogs began at an early age when I was introduced to a room full of puppies from my grandmother's beloved Bearded Collie. From that point on, I learned how to interact with and meet the needs of canine companions, and dogs have remained central to my life ever since.
I currently live with Basil, my Jack Russell Terrier; Poppy, my Belgian Shepherd X; and Cecil, a rescue JRT puppy who joined our family in July 2024. After a fulfilling career in the Ambulance Service, I made the decision in 2023 to follow my lifelong dream of working with dogs. Having faced the challenge of finding the right care for my own dogs, I knew I wanted to offer flexible, empathetic services to other canine guardians. My dogs’ experiences and emotional well-being have inspired me to provide thoughtful and tailored care, whether it’s assisting with daily walks, helping with hybrid working schedules, or supporting specific training goals. It would be an honour to be part of your dog’s journey, ensuring their unique needs are met with bespoke, canine-led care.
I am fully insured, trained in Canine First Aid, and hold an enhanced DBS check. Additionally, I am actively pursuing further CPD qualifications and am a certified Puppy School Tutor.
